Corporate Social Responsibility

Butterfield & Vallis takes pride in its legacy of supporting the local community through annual charitable donations. Our donations touch many sectors; local charities, health initiatives, sports, education, the arts, both youth and the elderly, and the environment.  We happily give food product and monetary donations to registered charities and vetted organizations.  We acknowledge our corporate responsibility in the community and seek to support worthy causes whenever and wherever possible.

Butterfield & Vallis also promotes employee involvement in community events such as marine clean-ups, Keep Bermuda Beautiful initiatives, and the organization of staff charity days.  The company encourages its staff and the community to remain fit and healthy. Our passion for healthy living sparked the birth of our annual Butterfield & Vallis 5k race  and in 2006 the introduction of our Employee Wellness Programme. We support many local sporting events on both a small and large scale and are proud sponsors of the annual  events such as the Bermuda Triangle Challenge, Bermuda Triple Challenge, Zoom around the Sound, the Partner Re 5k, and Man on the Run 5K to name a few.   In 2017, Butterfield & Vallis were major sponsors of the 35th America’s Cup and are now proud sponsors of  the PGA Bermuda Championship.

Another passion of Butterfield & Vallis is the Spirit of Bermuda which is owned and operated by the Bermuda Sloop Foundation.  Our annual donations support their educational development programmes, which teaches school-age children the benefit of team work while building valuable life skills and learning to sail.  Butterfield & Vallis had the pleasure of hiring The Spirit of Bermuda on three separate occasions for a once in a lifetime Atlantic crossing experience for employees.

Butterfield & Vallis takes corporate citizenship seriously and is committed to supporting the community by giving back to its employees, customers, and the larger Bermuda community.
