HUNT’S RED BEAN SOUP

1 bag of Jack Rabbit Kidney Beans

Water

2 large onions – chopped

2 large potatoes – peeled & diced

3 large carrots – peeled and diced

3 cloves garlic – peeled & minced

2 ham steaks – cut in cubes

1 pckg. Gaspar’s Chourico – skin off & diced

1 12oz. can Hunt’s Tomato Paste

1 ½ tsp. thyme

2 tsp. chili powder

½ cup red wine

Ground pepper

Rinse beans and place in large pot. Cover with water and boil for about an hour. Place all other ingredients in the pot and add more water. Simmer for about 6 hours until thickened and vegetables are cooked.

This can either be served immediately or frozen in containers for a quick lunch or supper.
